I see a red door.

And I want to paint it black.

So, I posted on my facebook that I painted my front door red and that is the response I got. Haha!

Someone asked me why I painted it red and I told them I have always wanted a red door. I am not sure why.... there wasn't any special house that I loved with a red door. I just like how it looks. In fact, my Husband is so wonderful that when we bought our house, we were talking about things we wanted to change and he says "Oh and we'll have to paint the front door red". It hadn't even crossed my mind yet!

I googled the meaning of red doors and in Feng Shui it creates a welcoming energy. It also means protection and the blood of Christ. I like all of those meanings!

We went to Home Depot and I picked out "Red Velvet" from Behr. It already has the primer mixed in which is nice!

And then the hard part started. I thought it would be so easy to paint a door. Uhh, not so much. First of all, it is winter so it's cold. Secondly, the door is dark green. When I first applied the paint, it looked sooo bad and I thought "what did I get myself into?". After 3 to 4 coats, the door looks fab!!!

Oh and what happened to the office? Still working on it! I'll update about that soon :)
